Which order should one update graphic card drivers: onboard first and then dedicated? Or dedicated first and then onboard?

I am dealing with messed up display on my laptop: images slow to load and artifacts from previously viewed tab-window after switching to a another tab. Judder when playing even only moderately fast video frames (not games), both while streaming through browser, and playing saved video files on WMP.

So I want to try updating drivers for both onboard (Intel HD 3000) and dedicated (NVidia GeForce GT 525M 1 GB).

The issues started a month back, after I installed an update driver for my Nvidia from Dell Driver's and Downloads page that Dell recommended for my system. To set the problem right, I restored the system to a point two weeks prior which put the NVidia driver back to a 2012 version (which had been working okay.) But the restore did not right the problems. If anything they are worse.

The Intel graphics driver is still the OEM version from end of 2011.

The laptop is a Dell XPS L502x running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1.

Thanks in advance for any help.
