Question Which OS for Pentium II

Win98SE or Win2000.

What will you use such a system for?

Windows 98 SE for sure. ME sucked. Regular 95 and 98 are pretty much the same thing as SE but more buggy. DOS 6 and Windows 3.1 is more suited for a 486 or older.

Unless you just came into a vintage collection of unopened and vintage Quake 1 or 2 installation media, there is precious little reason for assembling a P2-based rig, which topped out at only 450 MHz if memory serves...(I see i3-2100-series CPUs in Dell being sold at $50 every other day....)
