i havent been around computesr for awhile, the last trend in overclocking with p4's that i remember is the 1.6GHz.

which cpu seems to be best for OCing? how high would a 2.4GHz or a 2.53GHz go with my watercooling setup?

thanks

Apples are good.

A 2.4 should get to 2.88 easily(that's what i get----stock cooling),so with water that would definitely be higher. The 2.53 should get close to the 3.0 mark, if not a tad higher. If you want to see great results; some with and without water cooling, go visit "overclockers.com". Click on their "CPU DATABASE" and check both amd and intel chips for some results. (great site for snooping to see what others have achieved!!!)

The latest stepping 1.6A can often do 3.2GHz (!) with condensor cooling...but you're on water, so depending on water temp, maybe 2.8GHz. Still quite high!

OK, but you're not getting any garuntees. With CPU prices as they are, if you can get a recent 2.53 you should be able to hit 3GHz without as many risk.
