Hi guys!

I would like to upgrade either my GPU or CPU but I don't know which one should I do.(maybe both?)
Current build:
M.b.:ASUS B150-A (Intel LGA 1151 socket)
CPU: i5-6500 3.6GHz turbo, 4 cores
GPU:MSI GTX 1060 6GB
PSU:450W

I would like to keep the current motherboard if I have to update the CPU.

What CPU, MOBO, and RAM do you recommend? Budget:400-500USD.

gpu is still ok, i prefer upgrading to a i3 10100F + b560m pro4, better than buying an i7 6700/7700, having better upgrade path, and could OC the memory or run xmp speed.

What psu do you have
What resolution and Hz is your monitor?
What do you want to improve, more FPS, better game settings or both?
What RAM? 2x8gb and what speed?

Have you done any testing in your games to determine if it’s the cpu or gpu limiting you?

PSU: Corsair VS450
Monitor is 144hz
Both FPS and game settings
2x8gb 2133MHz

Have not done any testing, but in my opinion, it's the CPU that I should upgrade, just wanted to make sure and hear more thoughts about it from others as well.

Boot the machine then wait 5 mins then run this with the browser closed.
Post a link to the results page.
PC Benchmark

What does not work to your liking and what is your budget?

Quick test. Reduce your resolution to 720p and see if your ps goes up. If it stays about the same then it is most likely the cpu limiting performance.

The problem you have is the only upgrade path is a 6700/6700k/7700/7700k and these are usually way overpriced fo their level of performance. A cpu upgrade that will give a decent increase in cpu performance requires a new cpu and motherboard, you ideally also want to upgrade the RAM as 2133mhz is going to hold back any modern setup.

If upgrading the cpu, motherboard & RAM I would also change the psu for a higher quality unit. When you upgrade the gpu you definitely want a higher quality and most likely higher wattage psu.

edit as somehow it said gps instead of FPS :ROFLMAO:
