This basically takes my whole budget, I was wondering if there are better options I could take or anywhere that I could lower the overall cost. I do need an cd/dvd reader but i just put the cheapest one on without much looking into so what are your thoughts.

This is my first build so any info is helpful such as is the psu good if I was to overclock the cpu a little bit to maybe 4ghz? Also does the motherboard have good sound card or do i need a seperate one?

Also are there any extra case fans or anything that I should get? I am literally building from scratch with no other components being used so are there any other little things such as themal pasting, fans and stuff?

And last of all, what case would fit this all in? If possible one with a window you can see the inside of the computer

you could get a RX 480 8GB which is cheaper in some cases and performs slightly better than 1060 in DX11 and beats out the 1060 in DX12 by a good margin, try this one

and its definitely not worth getting a 159 pound mobo, you could get something much cheaper that can overclock well, try this one https://pcpartpicker.com/product/GRvZxr/msi-motherboard-z170akraitgaming3x for around 100 pounds

Yes there is definitely room for improvement there, but it depends what you plan to do. Do you intend to overclock, or use sli. What about using NVME's in a raid0 array? (Because thats the main feature of that board).

Also, a 120GB SSD is of no use to anyone, and Samsungs are overpriced.

Ive changed the mobo but it is still £130, I guess the £20-30 is good though. Im looking at the gpu's now Ill reply when i know a little bit more

With the evga 1060 I dont believe it is sli compatible, maybe im wrong. I dont intend to overclock the gpu but i do intent to try and overclock the cpu with help from an experienced friend. Ill look into the nvme stuff because ive never heard of it.

Also, why should i not get an ssd and if i was still to get one, which one would be better priced?

Oops yeah missed that. No 1060 isn't SLI capable, at least not via a bridge, but it can be done in other ways. Ok, if you intend to OC the CPU (you should definitely OC the GPU as its so simple) then stick with a k chip and the z170 chipset.

I didn't say an SSD is useless, I said a 120GB one is, as they have much lower IOPS and performance is impacted when full, which wont take long when a drive is that small.

At this time NVME RAID is pointless and expensive lol. One NVME is fast enough. Two in RAID0 is just silly..

You would've been better off getting the SSD on Black Friday, as the Crucial MX300 750gb was £100 which was a crazy price... but the best priced one for performance right now is this http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/rrvZxr/crucial-mx300-275gb-25-solid-state-drive-ct275mx300ssd1

sli or crossfire is not recommended due to scaling issues and what not, and about overclocking, it will probably take an entire day but is entirely doable if you look at guides online, i had no prior experiences to overclocking but with the help of guides i was able to get my CPU to 4.5 GHz

Wow that is quite an increase. I have a friend who overclocks anything he can so i'll get him to help. Thatll save me from destroying my new rig.

Ok, Ive had a little research around, the main games i plan to play are CSGO, ARMA, Fallout 4 and the other fallout and elderscrolls games. From benchmark tests on youtube the 1060 seems to be the more favourable option especially in arma when on max settings the 1060 for 20fps more than the 480. I know I shouldn't solely base my purchase on these findings but it kind of has furthered my support in the 1060
