Due to the ongoing GPU shortage that could last at least another year before supplies reach a more acceptable level, I have decided to sell some of the parts that I bought in late 2020 for the gaming PC build I was going to work on when it looked like the CPU and GPU shortage would last only a couple of months. All of my components are still in their original manufacturer packaging. Obviously, I will likely have to replace the motherboard because, depending on which CPU I go with, AMD may use the newer AM5 socket or I may switch to Intel. I may also have to replace my DDR4 RAM if the newer CPU and motherboard require DDR5 RAM. I suspect that I may be able to hold on to other components such as the PC case, case fans, optical disc drives, and hard drives since those don't seem to change very often and replace them when I get ready to do the build if they are damaged or defective, newer versions of those components available, or the manufacturers have discontinued manufacturing and/or support for those products. However, I am seeking the advice of others on here who may have more knowledge and experience in how frequently various PC components are updated or replaced by their manufacturers to suggest which components I should sell and which ones I should hold on to for my future build. Please note I do not have the AMD Ryzen CPU that is listed on my PCPartPicker list.

Solution
You will be disappointed by the prices your parts will fetch.
Go to ebay and find your parts in new condition.
Filter on completed auctions and you will see in green what the part actually fetched.
Deduct ebay commission and shipping costs for even less yield.
Some parts may not even sell.

Your best option is to buy a cheap or used graphics card and complete the build.
A used GTX750ti will be about $75 and it should be sufficient for games that do not demand fast action.
Think strategy games for example.

Nothing particularly wrong with finishing this build as is. 5900X is still a decent multi-purpose CPU, only trails the Intel 12700K and 12900K by a little bit in games. 5800X3D is also an option when that comes out.

DDR5 prices are not exactly friendly either. But getting a 12th gen DDR4 board is pretty straightforward.
