[SOLVED] Which pc manufacturing companies would you avoid?

I am needing a new pc and don't have the time to put one together myself, though I have done that before. I remember back in the day hearing my computer repair instructors dissing on companies like Dell and HP. I'm not really sure if it was because they were crap, or because these guys just liked the idea of building their own. Anyway, it's probably two decades since then and Dell and HP are still our there along with a handful of others. Are they making good systems now? If not, who is?
Also, I should add that I'm not a gamer and mostly use my pc for streaming, photography, and potentially, music creation (by that I mean, I'm a musician and maybe I will want to put some recordings out and be able to edit them etc). Also I need good sound for listening to music and of course whatever I'm streaming. So those are my needs, where can I get something that comes close to that?

For real computer use, meaning no gaming nonsense involved, a major pc company is fine to go with.
