Which pc monitor should i choose?

i asked in another thread what graphic card i should get and went with the guys telling me to wait for 880 release. currently i have 670... i've been looking into different gaming monitors now but im not sure... which too pick, closest iv'e gotten is: BenQ 24" 3D LED XL2411Z. but seeing as im getting a new GPU in can i say september :3 shouldn't i also have my eyes on 4k monitors aswell i dunno? MS is important too me and iv'e never had a screen with more then 60Hz so that Benq is tempting! thougths & suggestions?.

Higher refresh rates will make your games feel a lot more snappy. The place where you can tell the difference the most will be racing simulators played with keyboards or something else where you need fast reflexes.

Asking us to buy that is the same as asking us what color toilet paper you want to have. I told you what it does, now you choose whether you want it.

Even on newer GPU's in the 800 series 4k will require multiple GPU setups to run well enough for gamers in particular. I would go for the BenQ you mentioned. Sure 4k has pretty colours but low framerates kills gamers in FPS's, Simulators, MMO's, or Moba's. Strictely role players may enjoy the expereince but no one else. At most right now I would go for a 2.5k monitor with a 120hz refresh rate, since you can actually hit that mark with current and next gen GPU's.
Also, big bad beef; no one wants to hear your toilet paper speil anymore. People are coming to this forum for advice, not to be turned away. Besides, your not talking about anything, you didn't tell him what it does. You just bashed him for not having the knowledge in this field to take all things into consideration.

I upgraded my monitor last year and almost bought the 24 inch Benq, wanting the 120 refresh rate.

But after a lot of research, I came to the conclusion that the extra speed from TN monitors isn't worth the better picture of IPS monitors.

I ended up getting a Dell 2412 for $270 and I still love it. I play BF3 on it everyday... The slower refresh rate is not an issue. Game looks amazing.

Check out some Youtube videos "TN vs IPS monitors gaming" type search. You might re-think buying the Benq.

Youtube still doesn't display videos at 60fps, its only 30 so that isn't a good measurement for framerates, and after a lot of experience (not just reading opinions), and testing, I came to the conclusion that the only gamers that should use IPS are the ones that really only play RPG's like skyrim, TN panels are the absolute best for gamers since they have such incredibly low responce times. The real challenge is actually leveraging that refresh rate.

I meant watch Youtube videos of people reviewing TN and IPS monitors side by side.

No doubt TN is faster, but most people use computers for other things besides gaming. Like watching movies, surfing the web and whatnot.

The better picture quality more than makes up for the slower refresh rate IMO. And games like Battlefield work fine.

If all you care about is speed, then definitely get a TN monitor. But if picture quality is more important, then IPS should be considered. One year later and I'm very happy I chose IPS instead of the cheaper/faster TN.

Look, these 2 monitors are practically the same, except for the aesthetics, in which case my previous statement stands. If you can't choose between the two, consult an interior designer, we are computer techs, not Justin and Colin home heist gang.
