Hello, so I want to hear your guy's opinion on which PC has the best performance out of these two. I am trying to choose one to make my main computer. I currently own both.

Option 1 MSI GT72 Laptop (Had for 4 and a half years):

CPU: Intel i7-4710HQ
GPU: GTX 970m w/ 6GB VRAM
RAM: 16GB DDR3 (1600 MHZ)
Storage: 239 GB SSD in RAID 0
1TB 7200 RPM HDD

Option 2 Desktop (Recently built, used parts):

CPU : Intel i5-4590
GPU: Mini GTX 1050TI w/ 4GB VRAM (Zotac)
RAM: 8GB HyperX (1600 MHZ)
Storage: 2x 500 GB 7200 HDD
Motherboard is micro atx ASUS brand

In my opinion, they are very similar in performance. The problem is one is a laptop and the other is a desktop. What do you guys think has better performance and do you have any suggestions? Thank you

Solution
Really depends on the use case.

For gaming, the i5 + 1050TI should get the slight edge, but a 970M is no slouch itself.

Either/or and, ultimately, do you want a desktop or a laptop? Or.... since you have both, why not use both?

Assuming you want to sell one, you can't really go wrong with either - the desktop really needs an SSD though IMO.

Personally, I'd keep the laptop, if I had to choose.
