[SOLVED] Which pcie SSD M2 socket to choose?

I have a rog z370h gaming. I want to install new ssd using the M.2 socket but I’m confused about which one to use. What specific words should I be looking for. Which words shouldn’t I be paying attention too. For example NVMe, 2280,22110,NAND etc. Thanks I know I have 2 different slots for the motherboard one says “supports SATA & PCIe”the other slot just says PCIe. Just buy a M.2 2280 SSD, and install it in the first M.2 slot.

I would get a m2 nvme ssd rather than a m2 sata ssd. They are faster. Use first socket

The numbers is only the size of the circuit board. Like the 2280 is 22mm wide and 80mm long

Best bang for the buck 2TB Adata 8200 its 199.99 on amazon. I know they changed a controller. It still gets 2900/read and 2500 write. Which is good for the AVG person, way better than what they need. It's the cheapest 2TB drive I have seen.

Gen 3 is going to max out and what 3500/3500 anyway? You could get a gen 4 that maxes it out, but doubt you would ever tell the difference.

The 1TB 8200 is 105 on amazon.

I know ADATA should told people about the controller change, but its still one of the best values.

If your budget is lower you can get a 500GB for about 60 bucks. I mean the SX8200 512gb is 58 and the WD 500gb blue is 59. 15k reviews of the WD blue on amazon, but it has really slow writes under 2k. So I would get Sabrent or sx8200 or something with over 2k writes.

I wouldn't over think and I would just get one, t he biggest one you can reasonable afford.

I have used a lot of different brands on builds and so far good luck. Samsung, Sabrent, ADATA, Silcon Power, all fine and all still trucking.

I wouldn't worry much about the TBW ratings if your a "normal" user. I have had a Samsung 850 PRO 512gb for 5 years and only wrote 35TB.
