Question Which platform to pick

I have found a deal on an i5 6600k and an amd ryzen 2600, both 8gb ddr4 2666mhz I think. Ryzen with b450 mobo and i5 with z270 motherboard, which should I choose from? This PC will be used for gaming and will be transferring my gtx 1060 6gb over from last build, I will go for 16gb eventually but only have budget for 8 at the moment. The ryzen is about £20 more. Thanks in advance

I would go for the 2600.

When you upgrade the ram, I would sell the 8gb and buy 16gb of 3200 or faster ram.

Yeah, I am aware that ryzen does benefit from faster ram, thank you I am definitely considering the ryzen I was just thinking if it was worth it or not, I have read that you can overclock the 2600 to 2600x performance is that right?

Yes, you should get 4.2GHz on all cores with decent cooling.

Brilliant, I am thinking on using nzxt kraken x62 to cool it so that shouldn't be an issue
