Hi there,
I am buying a i7 920 and would like to overclock it to 3.6 GHz. I am planning to buy Antec or CoolerMaster case. Will the built in power supply suffice or should I buy external PS?
By the way, how many watts of power will it take to OC to 3.6ghz. Is it 650 or 750?

Thanks,
Reddy.

First tell what's the wattage of the psu coming with that case.
Generally the psu's that come with cases are not that great.

And which video card are you running?

I think you will need a 850w+ PSU for OCing that with a decent video card.

My parts are

i7 920 - Tobe OCed to 3.6 Ghz
Asus P6T
Quadro FX 1800
Patriot 6x 2GB 1333
WD Black 2X 640GB

I am just stuck with choosing the right PSU. Will any Cooler Master or Antec have a 850W default PSU?
