Hey Folks,

I am going to upgrade my pc. I currently have a GTX 1050ti, 450W Coolermaster PSU.
I am thinking to buy one of i5-8600k, i5-9400f and i5-9600k processors along with suitable motherboard, 8gb ddr4 Corsair 3000Mhz, 240gb WD ssd, 1tb WD 7200rpm HDD.

Which processor should I buy?

and please also suggest a nice (not so expensive) motherboard with onboard wifi.

Thanks!!

What is the exact model of your PSU?

What is your current CPU? I'm assuming an older one, as you mention needing a motherboard.

Depending on your exact needs, you might well be able to save money by going with an AMD platform.
I currently have:

Intel Core i3-2120 @ 3.30 GHz
Asus H61 Motherboard (don't know the exact model)
8GB DDR3 Ram (ADATA)
CoolerMaster MWE 450 PSU
500 GB HDD
Asus GTX 1050ti 4GB

I'll only be usign PSU, Cabinet, Graphics card and maybe the HDD from older config.

Thanks!

Can you get Ryzen?
Yeah I can.
Though i am not a very big fan of AMD processors, but can buy a decent AMD processor too, if it's good.
A; 6 core CPU would be nice to play emulator games like GOW 3 or LOZ:BOTW.

for reference, I'll also be using this pc for work. Like graphic design, PS, AE, Corel etc. and also for structural analysis softwares like STAAD, ETABS, SAP etc. and drawing softwares like AutoCAD.

Thanks!

Will you be working with adobe premier?

Maybe, Working with AE and Premier is more of a hobby thing.
Graphic Design, Civil Engineering in Primary Work.
Look through the programs see what they’re more suited to. If they can use 12 threads then you should go Ryzen. If they only use 6 then a 9600K would be best.

However I wouldn’t go with the F chips. The only reason I can think of buying Intel atm outside of specific program needs is for the iGPU acceleration in adobe premiere.

Yeah, the tradeoff isn't great. The release of the 3000 series, though, has driven the 2000 series prices downward rather significantly.

I haven't chosen RAM as you already mentioned Corsair specifically.

Increasing from 2600X to 3600 (non-X) adds ₹150

Dropping down from the 2600X to the 2600 reduces the price by ₹2800

Thanks for your suggestion.
Can you please suggest Intel CPU from the above mentioned processors and motherboard. I'll consider buying AMD or Intel then. And for MB I have max budget of around 8000Rs.

Thanks!
