intel i3 2120 at 3.3 ghz or amd phenom x4 960t. i know that i3 blows a 960t, but when comes to games that support quad core cpu, will the i3 be lagging behind. also 960t can be overclocked which gives it a better advantage since i3's cant be OCed.

how does the i3 2120 at 3.3ghz compare to i5 2320 at 3 ghz. in gaming.

thanks in advance

Solution
I think the 960T performs roughly equivalent to the X4 940 (Correct me if I'm wrong).
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/80?vs=289 there's a benchmark of the X4 940 vs i3 2100 (200mhz SLOWER than the i3 2120).

i5 2320 will certainly be MUCH faster than the i3 2120 in gaming due to the four real cores instead of Hyper Threading. And taking into consideration that the i3 is faster than the Phenom in the link I posted above..well you get the idea.

960T-It likely performs ahead of the 940 somewhat as it has turbo core (all thubans do). OC'd it can get pretty high and maybe unlock like the one in my sig. At those speeds it trumps the i3 outside of gaming it trumps the i3 anyway.

i3- If you don't want to OC then this is for you personally I wouldn't buy a dual core these days unless you don't intend to keep it long.

i5 - Fastest in your list.... simple.
