Which PSU - 2x AMD 6990?

I'm just curious what sort of resolution OP is trying to push to figure he needs CF 6990s lol. I wouldn't be surprised if it's 1080p... ;)

As for CPU, I'm sure the 2500k will keep up just fine but at the point of spending $1500 for graphics cards, just spend the extra $80 or whatever on the 2600k... seriously.

Im only getting one 6990 for now and was going to buy the otherone maybe in 2-3 yrs when higher req games come out. Wanted to make sure I have enough PSU for then. Monitor is 27" ultrasharp dell 2,560x1,440

I think it beats all quads and hexa, when talking about games, from the previous generation of i7.



Besides the problems of dual gpu setup the 6990 would be somewhere like gtx580 sli in terms of performance.
You should ask for opinions from people that own a 6990. Also above 1080p 2 Gb of RAM per gpu is a plus.

From all the gaming benchmarks ive seen the 2600k would only provide 2% or so better performance than the 2500k when both overclocked. Wont be using many apps where the 2600k looks to have a better advantage.
