Which Radeon 8500 drivers?

Tom ran an article reciently titled "RADEON 8500 - Driven To New Heights" - "We've updated our Comdex review of the Radeon 8500's v7206 drivers"

Within the article, on the 'Test Setup' page, it is listed that the Radeon 8500 drivers used were...

ATI driver: V4.13.7191 (alt)
ATI driver: V4.13.7206 (neu)

I have just been to ATI site, there it tells me that the only drivers available for down load, for windows XP, are

Recommended Driver - 6.13.3276
Alternate Driver - 6.13.10.3286 - 7.63.01-011107X-1727E

While I might be able to guess which drivers are which, how do I know for sure, and why does the article use a name/number for the drivers that does not appear to be part of the current Radeon driver set?

it's the alternate driver (6.13.10.3286).
this is the one with smoothvision enabled.
