Hey everyone so I recently posted on some forums asking about upgrading my GPU but didnt get quite the answer I was looking for. So I want to upgrade my Graphics Card to the Radeon R9 280x. I have a Radeon R7 260X right now. First things first, I have looked around and pretty much came to the conclusion that the Radeon R9 280X is a very good GPU. So, I was curious as to what brand of the R9 280X should I get? Should I get a MSI, XFX, Saphire, ASUS, etc...? My specs as of right now are:

(PS. I just bought a new Corsair HX850W PSU. Just waiting for it in mail)

-- MSI R7 260X 2GD5 OC Radeon R7 260X 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
--MSI A78M-E35 FM2+ / FM2 AMD A78 (Bolton D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
--Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive - OEM

Mate, go for it. If you're confident it fits and you want it then go out and get it.

Worst case scenario is it turns out there wasn't enough space to cool it, it over heats and you can get a full refund under warranty anyway 😉
I highly recommend waiting. The R9 280X is still quite expensive and the R9 380X that will be far more powerful is coming out in February/early March. The R9 380X will be only slightly more expensive brand new and may even save you money due to its power efficiency.

Double check that its compatible with your motherboard and fits in your case before you buy it. I've seen people buy the 280X and encounter both problems. The sapphire toxic R9 280X is a massive card.

But again I will state I highly recommend waiting that extra 8 weeks for an R9 380X. With similar price, massively better performance and cheaper electricity bill there is a lot going for it.

I guess I forgot to mention I would like to spend around $250 on the graphics card...

The only issue is I would like to spend about $250. And I would like to get one now. So for the price I gave what do you suggest?

So out of the R9 280X models "right now" which do you suggest? I am willing to maybe go up to $275

wait for 2 weeks coz new card are coming out, AMD coming up with 300 series and Nvidia with 960...
if u still have to pick a card out of the R9 280x then I would suggest you to get the Vapour x.
Its cool silent and fast. I useR9 280 X Dual X and its OK not that great. average performance.

LOL y do u think there is a price difference.
Clock speeds OC temp noise all matters.

Ya guys I just want to upgrade to the R9 280X because I have found out that thats about as high of a GPU that my motherboard and CPU can handle. So, I think it would be nice to get a R9 280X.

So is there a certain brand that really sticks out or should i be okay if i just roll the dice and get a random Radeon R9 280X?

they are just the same chips with different cooler are factory overclocked. you could just overclock yourself and just bear with the loud noise of the low quality fans. haha..

but that toxic edition really stands out for me. 3 fans will cool that thing better.

I think the sapphire could be a good choice but my case is a Rosewill Line-M Micro-ATX Mini Tower. So its a fairly small case. It states though that it can hold a 12.5" card.
