Which RAM DDR4 to use with Ryzen 5 1600?

I'm building a new PC around an AMD Ryzen 5 1600.

I'm thinking of adding this motherboard: MSI B350 GAMING Pro Carbon: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B350-GAMING-PRO-CARBON/Specification

If I'm correct the Ryzen 5 1600 supports at the max DDR4-2400 and my chosen motherboard supports up DDR4-2933.

Which RAM memory would be best to use alongside the Ryzen 5 1600? As in which brand and/or DDR4-****?

I'm open to changing my motherboard but I'm set on buying the AMD Ryzen 5 1600.

It supports up to 3200 but most will not get that speed stable.
What I would get depending on if your buying 8gb or 16gb.

So even though the Ryzen 5 1600 specs say it only supports up to DDR-2400, it is possible to place DDR4-3000? Do I then need to change any settings on the motherboards BIOS?

You can get ram at a far better price than that.

Also I'd argue the pro carbon is overpriced but if it floats your boat!!

That said there us a ryzen Asus promotion on at the minute in the UK.

Buy a ryzen CPU & an Asus board & you get 2 free AAA title games.

you could get something like this https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232407 with same number as cas 14 and activate the axmp on board ram will run at 3200 and cpu will go to 3.4 ghz speed without any ohter overclock made

No, I'm not in the UK, I just used the site to show which memory I'm looking at.

What country are you in??

There's been more made of ryzen ram speeds than is important really , as long as you're running 2666mhz performance is good & only 2-3% behind 3200mhz.

Only Samsung b-die is really guaranteed to run full speed so common sense regarding prices should dictate what ram you go for.

I'm in the Netherlands, what would you suggest?
I've also no problem with switching the motherboard for something else.

What is the main difference I would notice between the Ballistix 3000 vs 2666?

^ main difference ?? None really apart from the colour.

3-5fps maybe max in gaming - at the
point of already being in excess of 100fps on 99% of games anyway.

So the 3000 may get you 115fps whereas the 2666 would give you 110fps


Kind of irrelevant really.
