which ram for new build?

I'm building a new gaming system for my brother, so far it has:

cpu fx6300
mobo m5a78l-m lx3
gpu hd7870

it says with the fx cpu it can have up to 1866mhz memory 16GB total but I'm only going to put 8gb in 2x 4gb sticks. I want to know is it worth getting the 1866 or is 1600 1333 just as good for gaming? I want to pay roughly £60 for a 2x4gb kit, any recommendations?

Ram speeds don't really matter that much for gaming so whatever is anyone among them would do. 1600Mhz Cl9 DDR3 is pretty standard.

It doesn't make a huge difference. One of my mates has an epic gaming rig with 1333 RAM and its never been an issue.
1600MHZ Ram will probably save you a few dollars without sacrificing any noticeable performance in the system.
