hello, i was searching for good rams on the market and for my 7 3700x cpu . I found a 3600cl17 for 144 $ and a 3200c16 for 100$ my question is , who performs better for this cpu? i've heard that ryzen doesnt take or use odd numbers so it will perform as 3600c18 not c17...

PS: both g skill tridentz and bdie

For the price difference IMO i'd get the 3200.
3600 is certainly the sweet spot in many cases for the 3rd gen Ryzen, but if your purpose is gaming, the difference between 3600 and 3200 is not too significant. But you'll find the higher speeds tend to sustain a higher minimum FPS. So it's about how much that increase is worth to you.

This one shows 3200 and 3600 at the same latency and it's not the only one that demonstrates this kind of story:

To add to the above, the 3000 series can benefit a lot from tighter timings as well. A kit at 3200 with CL14 timings may give better results than the 3600 at CL18, but overall the gain is minimal once you get over 3200 on the ram.

I have a 370x Asus board and still cannot get anything stable over 3200, but once I order the new Crosshair Hero I may be able to play around with the speeds some more.

I would get the 3200 kit and save the money.
