So i have 2 x 2GB 800Mhz DDR2 sticks and 2 x 1GB 400Mhz DDR2 sticks. If I use the 1Gb 400Mhz sticks with those 2G 800Mhz sticks, it would perform in 400Mhz and i would have 6Gbs of RAM and if I would only use the 2GB sticks it would perform in 800Mhz and I would have 4Gbs of RAM and i was wondering which setup would help my computer to perform better in daily use like gaming Sims 3, Dirt 2 etc. and surfing the internet? More RAM or better Mhz?

For the what amount of RAM, 6GB is little bit better than the 4GB. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ram-memory-upgrade,2778-8.html

For the speed, 800MHz is better than the 400MHz, if you combine the 4GB 800MHz with 2GB 400MHz, then you need do the test by yourself, because I can't find any info for those.

Download the MSI afterburn http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm , after install the program, go to the setting, it has the function to frame rate real-time monitor. So you install the 4GB 800MHz only test it, and also try install the combination RAM (6GB) to test too.

After that can you post the result let us know? Thanks you.

Unless you are going to be doing real high end gaming or using an application that will eat up more than the 4GB of RAM, I'd stick with the 4GB of 800Mhz. 400Mhz DDR2 (PC2-3200) is the slowest DDR2 ever made (in fact, it is the same speed as the fastest regular DDR RAM).
