Hello there good people, good day!

HP Compaq 8100 ESFF
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 650@ 3.20GHz 3.33GHz. 64-bit.
Actual ram 6GB.

I would like to know the specific ram that I can use to upgrade my pc. And what is the highest ram capacity I could install?

I have tried to upgrade buying a 8 gb ram. I'm not sure if it is because it was 12800U it didn't work. Now I bought 4 of 4gb ram 10600U. Still it doesn't work none of them.

My pc has 4 ports, 2 blacks and 2 whites
The 8gb won't even start the pc will just beeping.
With the 4gb it will keep beeping on the white slot.
On the black slots, it show configuration changes press f1, then when I press it, it will start over and over again. Saying there is a problem we need restart your computer it will keep on doing this for hour.
But if I change put the old one it works well.

The the ram working on my pc actually says 4gb 2Rx8 PC3-10600U-999 HF
2GB 2Rx8 PC-10600U-09-10-B0

Please advise and recommend me.. Thank you.

update the BIOS of your PC
https://support.hp.com/us-en/driver...ll-form-factor-pc/4098436/swItemId/vc-97123-1

unplug the PC from power, reset the BIOS by jumper while the new RAM is installed, try powering on

the 1st gen I5 can´t handle newer DDR3 models which are using 512M or 1024M chips. Only 256M chips on the DDR3 Dimms might work. So the 4GB modules should work if 256M chips are on these.

Hello helpstar thank you.

The 4gb ram says 4gb ddr3 1333.

I downloaded using the first link but I can't install it even as administrator. It says:" this app has been blocked for your protection.
An administrator has blocked you from running this app. For more information contact the administrator."

What should I do please?

Your PC requires low density DDR 3 ram that is not hardly being made anymore. You would have to find some on Ebay used specifically specified for you model. Don't think they have a QVL. Here is some compatible from Crucial https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-compaq-8100-elite-small-form-factor
Thank you but I can't find higher ram like the one properly working on my pc right now? Examples Samsung 2GB 2Rx8 PC-10600U-09-10-B0 or other?

Isn´t there a label with the exact model number on the module?

e.g. like "MEM-DR340L-SL08-ER13" on this one
https://i0.wp.com/memory.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/b26e290b-mem-dr340l-sl08-er13.png?fit=3189,707&quality=70&strip=1&ssl=1

search for something like:
M378B5273CH0-CH9
should be compatible to your system
Yes from command prompt I can see
RMR1870EC58E9F133
And
M378B5673FH0-CH9

I guess those are the 2 ram memories running in my pc actually.
So if I show these to the seller he will understand? And give me the right ram?
