Question Which ram speed numbers are correct here? Xmp/Dram frequency in the bios, or Hwinfo… the numbers are terrible !

My xmp profile is set to 7200mhz. Dram in bios says it’s set to 6000.
HwInfo says it’s 3600mhz, cl36( which would be devastatingly bad) which one do I trust ?
How do I fix this problem? Thanks!

It’s team group 7200 ddr5 cl 34 ram . It wouldn’t boot originally until I updated the bios . Now it will boot but at these speeds I’m throwing them on eBay because I would rather have a slower kit properly working . Anything but 3600 cl 36!!

3600 times two is 7200, this is just how they do it. DDR means double datarate ram so the number you see is doubled, or halved depending on how you look at it.
That table is just the predefined table that ram has in it's firmware, it's all the timings that the ram is tested and good for.

Your real issue is that it only runs at 3000, so your bios setting is correct, it "only" runs at 6000.
Your CPU or your mobo just might not be good enough for an even higher overclock, or you might have to do it manually.

Ok so I was under the impression that an xmp profile could very well overclock by itself. As I can see it already has been overlocked by default up to 6000 from 5600 stock numbers via the processor ( thank you for the link above) . Why is it being held back the additional 1200? How would I go about bringing it up to 7200? Thank you !
