Hey, I'm getting the Gigabyte Z690 Gaming X mobo and I'm after some DDR4 RAM recommendations please? Don't care about price all that much. I've heard people going above the max capacity so I'm unsure.

You could look at the qualified vendor list for that board at Gigabyte web site.

Or go to Crucial.com and enter that motherboard into their configurator and see what Crucial says is compatible.

Typical advice is to get some flavor of 3200 or 3600 speed. Not much payoff for going beyond that. Likely 16 gb; 32 if you have a good reason or just can't help it.
