An article like this really isn't very fair if it doesn't look at any of the Pi-alternatives. Legitimate Pi-alternatives, I mean - not like the industrial SBC boards Ash has been claiming as Pi-alternatives.

I'm a big fan of ODROID. They offer eMMC, better power-efficiency, and a true 64-bit OS (i.e. with all 64-bit apps and libraries). They also feature much better GPUs than the Pi.
