Solution
It's a battle between MSI RX 480 8GB Gaming X vs. XFX RX 480 GTR. Both are one of the best for AMD's Polaris RT serie.

I don't see the XFX GTR in your list. Not an option?
Hi OP,

I would go with the sapphire rx 480 OC 1342mhz as i own it myself.Normal temps are 45-50 and under load max i got was 82-85 degree.I have got this to OC til 1385mhz(i dont know how to OC well so maybe i am doing it wrong)

I dont know about other cards listed but i have seen this 2 particular cards that do well

XFX RX480 GTR(i have seen this card hit around 1410 mhz clock(jay2cent youtube review )

HIS IceQ roaring OC(seen this card hit 1400mhz easily(source:Videocardz)) but its a ugly card

Idk if the above rx 480 samples sent to them are silicon lottery samples or just the normal samples but its worth looking into it

Depends I guess. If the OP plays DX12 games or wants a freesync monitor, the AMD RX is probably the better one.

Well I have a 60 hz monitor and hoping for 1080p gaming.Reason I chose amd is the dx12 supported and vlukan games apparently run better in rx 480,and also the 2 extra gigs wont hurt. Both of the prices of 1060 and rx 480 are kind of same here.

But honestly I have kept an pen mind.So which variant of 1060 would you recommend?I have asus and evga to choose from..

yup.No xfx here, atleast in the online. And few stores which sell gpus charge ridiculous price

Hey gud news, the xfx is available for me now that is two versions of it, RS and GTR.
I heard that GTR is better than the RS?

Also the xfx has mentioned this on newegg -
"Minimum Power Supply Requirement: 500W
XFX Recommended Power Supply: XFX 550W PSU"

and my psu is Antec VP550P(Its not top end,but had no other option at that time, psu's are limited in choice and expensive here)

So now what do you think now (same price as msi gaming x)

Your power supply will run an RX 480 just fine.

The XFX RS is poor. Well, the XFX RS should be threated like a reference RX blower 480. You shouldn't overclock it, the fans are a bit loud and the GPU will run 80-85 degrees under load. It has poor cooling.

However the XFX GTR is a BEAST and I'd take it over the MSI Gaming X.
