Which Ryzen to choose?

Hi everyone,

Am building a laptop for rendering and cad applications (Rhino, autocad, sketch up for design...vray, lumion , twinmotion for rendering) and I need your input on the cpu.

Basic Build:

32 GR ram
RTX 2070 GPU
500 GB SSD (x2)

Now am stack on the processor. Am trying to choose between :

Ryzen 5 3600x
Ryzen 7 3700x
Ryzen 9 3900 ( not the X)

Price difference is not that much. What I need to decide is which processor will give me the best results in combination with the RTX 2070 .

And which laptops (as opposed to desktops) do you see offering those CPU and GPU options, just out of curiosity?

Assuming you meant desktop CPUs, the 5700X or 5800X are both selling like hotcakes...

Considering you have a RTX 2070 Ryzen 5 3600x wont be bad choice as its cheaper but some people experience heat issues with it so probably go for the Ryzen 7 3700x that will be both cost affective and performance wise better the Ryzen 5 3600x while Ryzen 9 3900 is the best overall but its price difference is a lot and wont be have much difference in performance with the RTX 2070 .

I will check your website, thank you. I had the same thought.. Go for the middle choice, the R7. Difference in price between the R7 and R9 is just 50 euro.
Between R5 and R7 100 euro.
So not much of a difference for a company laptop.

If the price different between R7 and R9 is 50 euro then maybe you can go for the R9 as the performance difference of R7 and R9 is a lot more
