As the title states which SATA converter to USB works the best ? I use several different applications like BartPE, Terabyte BootIt BM, LiveCD and so and need to be able to access the drive via USB from both within Windows and from some of the above applications. I understand if any of the above apps don't support USB then the drive will not be detected and this is fine.

Same question for IDE (2.5"/3.5"). To USB which converter adapter works the best ?

Thanks

Most Live Version of windows WON'T boot right off a USB Hard drive. You need to use a USB thumb drive to start the boot and then it loads off the USB hard Drive.

But i use a MSI USB 3.0 adapter which is nice because 1) its USB 3.0 and 2) I can swap what every drive i want into easily.

If you are looking for an actual enclosure I like the Rosewill ones. If you just want a USB adapter there are a lot of brands out there. I don't use anything really for the 3.5 inch drives because i use my BlacX Dock.
