I'm going to run a RAID (mirroring) of two drives of 6 or 8 TB off of my motherboard. This is just going to basically be for general personal storage and backup of data on SSDs.
I'm looking at around $150/drive budget, I could get an 8TB desktop drive:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H289S7C/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1
or a 6TB NAS drive:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085Z4P89R/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
for about the same money.
I also want to get drive recovery insurance which amazon sells "R+ Rescue data recovery services" for $15/3years but I do not know if they are good or if there is another option.
For this my main concern is RELIABILITY rather than performance.
Thanks for any advice
