Which should I get for my new PC - Ti4200 or 9500?

Hey,
I'm going to be getting a new PC within the next week or two, and I'm considering getting either a GeForce 4 Ti4200 8x 128Mb or a Radeon 9500 for her. These cards both seem to be around my budget.

I'm certainly also open to OCing the card to get more performance out of it too. I've heard some people say that there are some issues with the Radeon cards also, is this true?

Cheers,
Wade

Pick the 9500 no question what so ever. Don't think theres no comparison, buy it now.

The only thing that i truly know...

is that i know nothing at all.

And if you're lucky enough to get a 9700 based 9500 np then you're in for some WHOA MAMA overclocks

Another vote for R9500 Pro

he is talking about the 9500np, probably because its very close the the same price as a TI4200

a PRO9500 is probably a little more

personally i would chose the 9500np. because its got the hardware that counts for future games (4 pixel shadres, 9700 geometry engine basically minus the pixel pipelines and memory bandwidth)

but, if your only interested in games now, its hard to say. in UT2003 the TI4200 MIGHT actually be a little faster because the fillrate is someonewhat more on it.

but in splinter cell and other pixel shader heavy games is where the 9500np will leave the TI4200 behind in the dust. and this is the way future games will be.

Try the Radeon 7000VE. It has Radeon in the name, so it must be good...
