Hey guys and gals, so far I have a i7-8700k, 16 gigs of RAM, and an ASUS ROG STRIX 1080 and I want to upgrade my rig so it's more future proof and have a few questions about the new 2000 series graphics cards and about different processors on a triple monitor setup. So far I am looking at two different setups. Upgrading to an i9-9900k a 2080ti and 32 gigs of RAM. Or the less expensive i7-9700k, 2080 SUPER, and 32 gigs of RAM. So while I know that the first setup will be more powerful I'm curious if it will be so much more powerful to justify around 650 dollars. My main games are COD:MW, ultra modded skyrim, RDR2, and stuff like that. So is the 2080 ti (my main concern) really gonna give me that many more frames per second on 5760x1080 resolution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
At the moment I would only upgrade your GPU and if you really wanted to your RAM. For purely gaming, 16GB is the standard amount for most systems. Your CPU will be fine and overall the amount of money spent on upgrading the CPU vs increased FPS just isn't worth it. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/intel-core-i9-9900k-9th-gen-cpu,5847.html
The 2080Ti will help with your framerates on the triple monitor setup. Your full setup is 3/4 of a 4k monitor.
