I have a notebook HP Model 14-bw071au. It's slow as molasses in January. Based on another SS Drive with 240GB I had installed on another PC, I would be happy with another 240GB Drive. My question is where to get that drive
and the ID for it?

obviously if it's running off an HDD, then any 2.5" SSD will fit in place of the HDD. But if you want to keep the HDD in there as extra storage, then you need to check if it supports M.2.

For either a 2.5" or M.2 SSD, I would recommend a Crucial MX500 series SSD for great performance and storage for a great price.

Here's your choices of my recommendation for the MX500

Storage: Crucial - MX500 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($49.95 @ B&H)
Storage: Crucial - MX500 250 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($49.95 @ B&H)
Storage: Crucial - MX500 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($57.99 @ B&H)
Storage: Crucial - MX500 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($57.99 @ B&H)
Total: $215.88

or you could answer my question. I can't in good conscience tell you what to get if it's going to be a waste of money.
If you live in America, then the MX500 series drives I linked are what to get AND you should get them from B&H.

If you live in another country, then I need to know what country to better recommend something.

If you don't care about potentially wasting money that doesn't need to be wasted and you absolutely must buy from Amazon, then I still say to get the MX500 series from Crucial.

I just learned that a Crucial SSD is available in Thailand for $15 less. My question is Is this the same SSD?

Crucial makes more than one model of drive, and has been for many years.

Anything older or lesser than the MX500 series is not worth it.

Since now I know for sure that you are in Thailand then obviously use Amazon and pay for it in USD amounts, then the MX500 is what to get. Best bang for buck in terms of storage capacity, performance, and life expectancy of the drive.

There is only one other drive I could recommend besides the MX500 with similar performance overall, but shorter life span that will save you a couple bucks.

I've added it alongside the MX500 in this list

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Storage: Crucial - MX500 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($49.95 @ Amazon)
Storage: ADATA - Ultimate SU800 256 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($42.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Crucial - MX500 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($57.99 @ Amazon)
Total: $150.93

If you are willing to sacrifice overall performance (still faster than a standard hard drive) and life expectancy, then these are super cheap options by comparison.

It's a great price. Unfortunately, they ARE charging for shipping(regardless of advertising FREE shipping). Plus there's a $20 import
tax to Thailand, so the %59.95 SSD is now $86.95. I can get the same SSD mx500(see above) for $70 in 3 days thru a supplier I have used for a number of years...
Thanks, all!
