Which SSD? Samsung 950Pro PCIe SSD 256gb or Samsung 850 Evo Sata 3 SSD 500gb

Im going to be using a 500gb HDD as a storage drive, and just running Windows and my current games on the SSD.

Would the 950Pro in a Asus Z170 Pro Gaming board be that big of a difference?
Heres my Setup
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard
intel i5 6600k unlocked Skylake
( 4 x 8 GB ) Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 MHZ (Running @ 3000 not 2133)
EvGA nVidia GeForce GTX 960 FTW+ ACX 2.0+ 4GB DDR5
Antec 750W PowerSupply (From my old PC, Just built this rig a week ago)
Samung HD502HI (My 500gb Sata HDD)

Im 99.9% positive the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming mobo has a PCIe M.2 SSD slot on the bottom right, but would anyone else mind confirming it for me?

Now I actually feel like this is a stupid question... Plus the Pro has way more reads over its lifetime. Im 99.9% sure im going to get the Pro...

Honestly, you don't get much of an advantage out of a PCI-E SSD over a SATA SSD for those tasks, windows will boot faster and games will load slightly faster, but is it worth the extra money, not for your usage scenario. As for the writes, the EVO will have plenty of writes for most people, as most people will need to replace the computer before the SSD needs to be replaced

The board supports that 950 -M.2 x4 Socket 3, *2, with M Key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 storage devices support (both SATA & PCIE mode) Yes better boot times slightly but half the storage for large games and their large updates. a 256 with a few large games + windows is full and they run much slower when full. i started with 256gb, soon found this full and much slower. You need to keep ssd's at least 20% free (over provisioning) space to keep them working fast.

Go a Samsung 850 pro 500gb. Great optimisation software with them too
