I am almost done my build, just down to the last couple parts.

I mainly do gaming and video editing. I was wondering what SSD you think i should get for around 100 dollars. I was going to get the Samsung 830 128GB SSD, but they are no longer available. So now i am looking at the Samsung 840 120GB. I really prefer to avoid OCZ, just a personal preference. Please let me in on some tips and ideas, thanks!

An SSD supports anything haha, but unless you already have windows 8 I wouldn't get it. It's basically made for touch screen and tablets.

Yeah, exactly. The 840 Pro is easily the BEST SSD out, but the $60 different between it and the HyperX will make up for the performance difference, especially when you probably can't even notice the difference in real world usage. The Neutron GTX is $50 cheaper, and it's almost as good as the 840 Pro. It's a great SSD, it's just overpriced.

If you are willing to spend the extra 50, get the pro. If not, get the 840. The 840 pro is too overpriced imo.

I'm using OCZ Agility 4 256GB for my Macbook Pro. Haven't had any problems so far. If you don't like OCZ, I have a Corsair Force GT and a Samsung 840 Pro in my desktop. Both are great drives. Never had a problem with either drives. The Samsung 840 Pro is actually quite a bit faster than the Corsair Force GT. If you don't mind the price, you should deffinetly go for the 840 Pro. FYI, you can replace the optical drive with a caddy to fit in a 2nd Hard drive to make up for the small disk space of SSD.

Not worth it at all in my opinion. The Neutron GTX performs almost as well and it's only $105 at newegg. I'd go with the Kingston HyperX 3K if I were you. The 840 Pro is great, easily the best, but its' too overpriced. Wait until they have another deal on the 840 Pro, they probably will soon, if you're going to get it. Again, if I were buying one right now I'd get the HyperX 3K. You just missed a good sale on the 120GB model, but it's still a really good price.

"Cons: SSD Hyper X looked like a awesome deal from a known name, 120GB SSD for 69.99 or so... Forgot that a certain amount was used by trim system for maintainance. 111 GB avail mem. Not bad still, except the drive is not supported by Windows 8. It sees drive but errors out @ variable times, can't a find Driver anywhere that will install to adjust the trim to work with Windows 8." One comment
