Hello everyone, I've decided to buy an SSD to revitalize my laptop. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15 7559 and it's currently using a 1TB Seagate SSHD, it also has an m.2 slot so I'll be adding the SSD as a boot drive and not replacing the mechanical drive.
I've narrowed it to the following 3 options: WD Green 240GB m.2 SSD, Kingston A400 240GB m.2 SSD and the Crucial MX500 250GB m.2 SSD.
I've read a few reviews and my general impressions are that the Crucial one is the best, followed by the Kingston and the WD Green is the worst. My main issues is I have also read a lot of reliability issues with the Kingston A400 and the Crucial is sold by a relative unknown store in my country of residence, Brazil.
I'm not particularly knowledgeable about SSDs, so I would like to ask:
Which one of these options should I buy?
Are there other options with similar pricing that I could find in Brazil?
The WD Green being the slowest, will I notice any impact in daily usage as a boot drive?
Are the Kingston A400 reliability issues widespread or have they been fixed in newer revisions?
Thanks in advance to everyone that answers.
PS: Any other option must be SATA 3, since my laptop doesn't support NVMe.
Prices:
WD Green: ~$48
Kingston A400: ~$53
Crucial MX500: ~$59
