What is better option to store PC Games - DVDs or External Hard drives ?

With current games crossing GigaBytes of occupying size limits and
also considering the fact that DVDs average life is 2 to 4 years max i suppose.

and Why you prefer one over another.

yeah that's what i was thinking too , dvds getting old.

and now my Steam friends also store their games on externals.

Also calculating price of buying 1TB storage size for DVDs , Externals is almost the same bucks near about. same storage amount for Blu-rays costs more.

plus on externals data can live longer , since they are less daily used if used for archiving purpose.

External hard drives are generally too slow for games/programs, because of the fact the hard drives themselves are slower than regular internal hard drives, and the limitations of USB transfer speeds.

It's not hard to add another HDD inside a computer either usually.

And you don't "store" games on cd/dvds that's just what they come in, and they do seem to last for quite a few decades as all my old Warcraft 2/ect and like PlayStation era games still work even if they're scratched to hell.
