Which Stress test tool to use?

For temp testing: Prime95 v26.6 small fft torture test is best. It gives a solid 100% equitable gaming load so you'll see exactly where temps maximum stand.

For stability: Asus RealBench. Ignore temps mostly, that being taken care of by Prime95, but the test will put the entire pc through a vigorous workout, intended to use all the different instruction sets, cpu, ram, gpu etc.

OCCT is OK, but not that good for stability as it only uses a 80%-100% variable workload mixed in with linpack which uses high amounts of ram. Basically a jack of many trades, not even close to master of any. You won't get any solid numbers other than a min/max, neither of which last any real length of time,

Being able to run the 100yard dash in under...

Personally I like OCCT, it will stop the test and alert you when it finds errors rather than waiting for a crash that may not come. Has integrated temperature and voltage monitoring etc

Being able to run the 100yard dash in under 10seconds doesn't translate over to how fast someone can run a mile.
