Hi. I was looking to buy a computer, and have two in mind. The first:
Processor
Intel Core i5 4440 (3.10GHz)
Memory
16GB (8GB x2) DDR3-1600
Hard Drive
500GB HDD Serial-ATA-III
Optical Drive
24X DL DVD+/-RW Drive
Graphics
SI N660 Gaming 2GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card
Power Supply
450w
The second:
Motherboard: Asus M5A990FX R2.0
CPU: AMD FX-6300 Black Editon
RAM: Gskill Ripjaws 8GB (2X4GB) @1600Mhz
GPU: a set of Radeon HD7770 2GB
PSU:corsair CX600M bronze rated
SSD: Intel 520 series 60GB (for OS) also has a 640GB Hard Drive for storage. Installed a fresh copy of windows 7 home premium 64bit

I was just wanting to know which computer would be better for gaming?

Solution

For gaming 6GB is about right so 8GB would be ideal. 16GB is overkill unless you are doing extreme video editing at the same time as having 20 web pages open. Best of luck!

By far the first one is the better option, just ensure you have a decent power supply capable of running everything. To future proof yourself moving forward i recommend a decent 600w PSU, Corsair is a good brand to try. Best of luck!

Thanks for your help. Just one quick question. How important is RAM to playing games? The only reason I am asking is because I found a video with someone that had the same GPU and CPU, but he only had 8gb of RAM, and this computer would have 16gb. He was playing with around 40 - 50 fps, so I didn't know if it would give me a 5 - 10 fps boost?
