Hi,

I am looking at building a PC for my partner. I haven't kept up to date with the new Ryzen CPU's and Intel's coffee lake so I'm not exactly sure which one to get. I have looked at multiple threads and other websites. She is looking to do gaming on this PC. Here are the two builds. This is a budget build so I need to keep the price low. We already have the case and PSU sorted. This build will also have windows 10.

Build 1: Intel

CPU: Intel Core i3-8100
GPU: Asus - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB CERBERUS Video Card
MOBO: Gigabyte - H310M S2H Micro ATX LGA1151
RAM: Corsair - 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory

Build 2: AMD (Ryzen)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1500x
GPU: Asus - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB CERBERUS Video Card
MOBO: Asrock A320M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4
RAM: Corsair - 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory

Thank you in advance,
Aaron K

Hi,

Thank you for such a fast response. By any chance do you know a Intel CPU that would be just a tad bit cheaper? That's roughly 165 pound. Just seeing if I could shave a pounds off it with a similar CPU to the one you suggested.

Thank You
Aaron K

If you were to go for anything cheaper, the next best thing would be the i3 8100, which is only 40 GBP cheaper (and you have already listed it) if I remember correctly. What would be a reasonable budget for the parts? Perhaps I can find some better alternatives. Also, are you willing to do Mail in Rebates?

Hi,

I responded before you did your edits. Sorry about that. We were thinking of going for the Ryzen 5 1500x.

We have now just decided to go for the I5 8400. I wouldn't be interested in rebates anyway.

Thank You both for your help.

Thank You
