Which tablet am I looking for?

Hi

I'm looking for a tablet that can replace a laptop (2kg is too heavy) for me. I need a nice thing that will let me work on documents/excels in split-screen. I'll use it for reading, browsing and music too.

I've been looking around the net for something suitable and I have a probably the most common problem - there's nothing that has it all.

I want a decent resolution [at least HD], expandable memory (stock 16gb will be fine) and capability to upgrade to android 6.0 when it's released. I'm looking for something sized 9-11". I don't necessarily want to spend 500euros on it (eg. S2).

From what I looked around, google nexus 9 would have been on the bang... but it doesn't offer expandable memory. So that's out.

Samsung Tab Pro 10.1 seems to be the best fit. Has more than HD screen, expandable memory, 10,1" screen... but it's android 4.4 and I can't find any info about upgrading it to 6.0.

Please, help me find the perfect* thing!


*Perfect is subjective term and should be interpreted as fitting users criteria on the bang

Your looking in the Android area witch is fine. But to replace a laptop wouldn't you want something that runs x86/x64 so it can run desktop Windows 8/10? Like a Surface/Surface Pro 3?

The Surface 3 is an excellent piece of kit and would meet your needs well. A little over budget but well worth it.

Well, for as long as it has office (-like) package, plays videos and browses net, it replaces' lappy for me. Bluetooth keyboards are not hard to come by.

Surface 3 (not pro) costs 600euros+ without keyboard & stylus. For this price I could get S2 + keyboard + stylus. S2>Surface 3.

There is a couple options when it comes to x86 tablets that run full Windows. Most running Atom CPU's

Funny I own a Windows Phone and an Android phone and have had an iPhone 5, my Lumia 930 is my favourite by a long way. Also hardly ever put my Surface 3 down either.
