I would like to have a new tablet but I am in doubt between the ipad mini retina display and samsung galaxy tab 8.4 s or pro 8.4 it seems to me that all three tablets are very good. I now own an Acer Iconia Tab a700 and he starts to get really slow he says that some apps do not work or they fall out of the apps . So I am used to android and also like that you can customize your homescreen itself but I have a feeling that android tablets work well for a few years or months and then they start to slow down. And about Apple tablets you don't hear this really I think. What do you guys think ?

On paper the samsung looks like the winner as it has a better screen and more storage. But the 2K display will affect the battery life if you watching a lot of youtube. Other than that both are very good tablets. I have never used any of these so someone who has can let you know what they think is better.
With every new iteration of IOS, Apple products (which are updated) slow down as well - that's how they get you to buy new products. As long as you remove cache files often and remove/disable programs you don't use, Android doesn't slow down significantly.

Samsungs tablets are fine, I have one myself and I'm really glad I bought it.

Retina display just means that display have more than 300 PPI (pixels per inch) and both Samsung tablets that you listed are above 300 PPI too, in fact slight higer than iPad Mini 2.
Among Tab S 8.4 And Tab Pro 8.4 I would suggest Samsung Tab S 8.4 because it have 3GB RAM (1GB higher than Pro and 2 GB higher than iPad). Tab S 8.4 is slim and light weight too among all you listed. Tab S is good for multitasking due to its higher RAM. However it doesn't offer SIM card slot but Apple iPad 2 have. Tab S have fingerprint sensor, and 8MP camera vs iPad's 5MP. Tab S have card slot so you can expand storage. Tab S have 4900 mAh battery and iPad have 6470 mAh. Large battery have iPad gives it more runtime. Have you want multitasking, watching videos go for Tab S. iPad mini 2 for battery life. Boths phones would be good for gaming too however both Samy tablets have larger display. Here are some benchmakrs shown that would help you:

Depends how you use your device mostly.

Thank for the help chriscornell and shahbaz200. Most of the time I use my tablet for watching youtube, broweing the web, sometimes I play games, watching movies, facebook and more so I use for a lot of things.

Then Samsung Tab S 8.4 would be good. It have Super AMOLED display which consumes less power than LCD. And it have dark colors too. iPad could be good too because it have large battery so it can operate LCD fine plus it is dual core so it can save more battery. But dual core can effect performance but mostly its apps are optimized for it. If you see, Tab S 8.4 is Octa core, it have 1.9 Ghz high performance cores to handle intense tasks while its other 1.3 Ghz low performance cores that are used for non intense tasks.
I suggest Tab S, it have larger display (0.5 inch), storage capabilities (SD card), and a better camera.

Hey guys I'm still thinking about wich one I should get but I just saw the sony xperia z3 tablet compact and he looks amazing to and at the moment he has the same price than the samsung galaxy tab s 8.4 in my country what do you guys think about z3 tablet compact vs tab s 8.4 ?
