Question Which to buy to upgrade

I need some help picking a PC to buy that my son can upgrade. The one he had died because the upgrades he added were too strong. So now we need to buy a new one and upgrade the gaming card, pay, and cpu to the ones he has now. Meaning it doesn’t need to have great ones to start since we will use ours. But I have no clue which one to but that will be good enough in other aspects. I also don’t know if I’m asking this correctly either so sorry I’m advance!! The parts we have that we will switch out are (also if these parts aren’t better than the ones already in the pc let me know!):

It sounds as if you already have a case to put the parts in. What size is it, Mini-Tower or Mid-Tower?

I do have the case from the old computer. I didn’t even think about reusing that. So I should just buy a new motherboard to put in it? It’s a regular size tower not mini.

Can you give me an idea of what motherboard you would recommend? I see you put the cpu as well. Should I upgrade that from the one we currently have?

How much do you want to spend on building an up-gradable rig for your son? What parts do you intend to recycle from his current system (need make/model of those devices)?

What are the specs for the current system (once again, need make/model of all components in use)?
