Which to choose

im just gonna use 600usd instead of 430 euros, easier for me to understand

i would go with 2 smaller cards. mega cards are the same as 2 cards in one, so you can only have max of 2 (highest is 4 gpus, and that equals 4). but the best mega card (gtx 295) is essentially 2 260's, 2 280's are better than one 295, and two of them are the same price as 1 295, 600USD (430 euros) give or take 50$, depending on what chpset manufacturer you go with.

so 2 280's are good, BUT

the best option is to wait for a month, wikipedia says that amd will release their new card, it will run 45nm (instead of 55, which is worse), more stream processors, and run the new directx11. all around better. dunno the pricing, but they're high end card will prolly blow the 280 out of the water.

2 285's or 2 280's is wayyyy better then a 295

personally i would also wait.... this is the end of the line for the 200 series and something good is around the corner for ATI... and then you never know what intel is going to introduce in 6 months

the 300 series will likely be tailing ati, but ive always liked ati better anyways cuz its more bang for your buck... also im pretty sure nvidia isnt owned by intel, thats why amd brags about being the only company who makes chpsets, processors and video cards... also i heard that amd is gonna release a new line to compete with the 17, cuz the phenom II is good, my 940 BE actually outperforms the entry level for i7, but there is no way you can beat the core i7 975... yet

How many amps does your power supply have on the 12VDC rail? And what is the resolution of the monitor that this card is intended for? The answers to these questions are kind of important for proper advice...
