[SOLVED] Which to upgrade first?

I plan to play Fortnite. So far this is what I have got


A4-6300
4GB RAM
GT 610
Win10 64-Bit

I have no plans on upgrading my CPU yet because I lack the money to buy so what I am really after is the GPU or RAM.

I have tried playing the game with the lowest settings, so far I got 20-30 fps. I was thinking of maybe upgrading the RAM first? I plan to add an 8gb stick, so 12gb in total. OR is it possible to increase my fps through GPU? Again, would R7 250 suffice?

If you want to play Fortnite. The GPU is the first step. You will need to close every other application to play it though.

There is nothing in this computer capable of playing modern games, you probably need to upgrade the entire system and there's not really any way around it. The CPU is too slow, the GPU is too slow, too little RAM, i'd imagine a bad power supply. Save up for a bit longer so you can buy modern parts that will give you more longevity.

How much can I get at the very least to be able to build a modern pc?

If you're in the US, the sweet spot would be $600-700, but there's a pretty good chance that you could find a fairly competent used PC for in the neighborhood of $300-350

That's good to know. But if at the very least, will upgrading my RAM suffice if I added 8 more gb or will R7 250 give more FPS? I just need to know from this point

It won't make much of a difference. What's your current budget?
