I decided to upgrade my old lcd tv which I was using past 6 years. I'm going to use it with ps4 pro, so tv should be ofc 4k with hdr support. I found two models which fit my budget, these are Samsung 49 inch MU8000 (MU7000 in europe and uk) and LG 55 inch SJ8500 (guess it should be SJ850V), the cost almost same, the only noticeable is different screen size, both are 4k, almost bezel less slim design, hdr support. LG's model is a bit more expensive, but it has a larger screen, so far samsung's model has better colors, smaller screen size and less expensive.

Which one would you offer, or did anyone of you had any kind of experience with these models. Any other model suggestions would me nice as well.

There's supposed to be some sort of formula that determines, based on how far you'll be sitting from the TV, what the optimum screen size would be (IIRC, it's distance = 2x screen diagonal size).

Personally, however, it's the picture quality (including color) that is probably more important. Given your comment about the color on the Samsung model being better, I'd go with the Samsung TV.

Use this database https://displaylag.com/display-database/
The Samsung UN55MU6300 and UN55MU6500 (curved) models also have 4k and HDR at 55 inch, the Sony KD43X720E 43" KD49X720E 49" and KD60X690E 60 inch models, the LG 55SJ8500 55-Inch all have the specs you are looking for with low input lag!

I personally would take the Sony

or one of the Samsung models

At 4k the recommended viewing distance is 2,5m or less for a 55" display. If you sit further it will look as sharp as a lower resolution screen, since your eyes can not differentiate such small details. If you sit further but adjust the text size and scaling you will be fine.

These tv's are using different panels, VA on samsung and IPS on LG. VA has better blacks, but not so vibrant color as IPS, so far IPS has poor blacks. I've used to compare these models on rtings and they have cons and pros, but similar overall ratings and scores. the max distance I can achieve in my room is 3 m, but I would be around 1,5-2 m far from

That was the first option I started from when was looking for a new tv, but low input lag tv's has poor build and panel quality, compared to the models I've mentioned above.I'm not looking for super craze input lag and refresh rate, otherwise I would go with gaming monitor. Input lag lower then 20 ms is fine for non competitive console player
