Hi,

I have a new laptop coming that has a 512gb nvme M.2 SSD in it.

I want to add an extra 1Tb and I have a Samsung Evo 850 1Tb 2.5" SSD sata or a 1tb M.2 nvme Sabrent Rocket.

At the moment the Samsung is in my desktop system (boot on that is a 2Tb Seagate firecuda nvme)

The laptop can take a second drive in either 2.5" format or M.2 nvme so both options are open to me.

Are there any reasons I should favour one over the other ?

Any advice much appreciated.

Yeah but I have the option of using the nvme in my main gaming system (my desktop which is i9 9900k (4.9Ghz on water AIO), 32Gb, RTX 2080ti) to replace the current SATA SSD or chuck the nvme in the laptop.

To be honest the easiest solution is to put the nvme in the laptop as that means I don't have to pull out and mod the desktop but that's just me being lazy and trying to save 30 minutes LOL

The desktop currently has all Xbox gamepass games on the 2tb nvme Firecuda due to the xbox app being a PITA about where it installs them - The current Samsung 1tb is for my Origin and Steam games.
