I have 1x8 gb 2400 mhz corsair vengeance and I can't decide if i should just buy another 1x8 gb 2400 (would be easier to do) or sell it and buy a 2x8 3000 mhz. How much of a difference is it? I've read around and seen that ryzen cpu's perform better with more RAM and dual channeled.
CPU: Ryzen 7 1700
Motherboard: ASrock b450 pro4
GPU: RX 570 8gb armor OC

Ryzen benefits significantly from faster ram in dual channel at 3000mhz or greater. This may prove useful. https://www.legitreviews.com/ddr4-memory-scaling-performance-with-ryzen-7-2700x-on-the-amd-x470-platform_205154
In the first benchmark alone, there was a 15 fps jump from 2400mhz dual channel and 3200mhz in dual channel.

I would sell the current stick. Maybe on eBay or locally. Then buy a 2x8gb 3000mhz kit.
As posted in a recent Toms Hardware article, there is a sale on a 2x8gb 3200mhz kit of crucial ram for just $69.99 at Newegg.https://www.newegg.com/ballistix-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820164131?nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-ed-Future Publishing Ltd-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=12920453&PID=8900246&SID=tomshardware-&cjevent=6469745b91f011e9810000e20a240612

My vote is to sell and purchase a 2 x 8gb kit of 3000 mhz. Not only will running your system in dual channel be benificial, so will the increase in frequency/bandwidth. Add those two together and you have a substantial performance uplift.
Alright thanks! Seen a sale on another reply for a 3200 MHz 70$ and most likely will buy with that offer.
