Hi everyone. I have been out of the PC gaming world for a few years and looking to buy a new (used) gaming setup. I don't need anything crazy but I would like it to be somewhat future-proof. I've been looking at three similarly priced systems and would like to hear feedback on:

1.) Are they worth the price being asked? They are all ~2 200 USD
2.) Which of the 3 would you recommend. Why/why not?

Thanks!

You can do a lot better with $2200 than any of those setups and I mean a lot better. What country are you located and what is your monitor resolution?

Thanks for the reply! I am located in Denmark, so prices may not be directly comparable. This is what I can get as new for the same price at my local gaming PC store. How would you say that this compares to the used options? (In Danish sorry)

If I were going to spend a significant amount of cash on a system this very day, it would be AM5. Everything you have listed above is a dead end platform. This is common due to the nature of the industry, however, AMD has stated they will continue support for AM5 much as they did with AM4. If they do HALF as well as they just did, that would be a great situation to be ground floor on.

I think system 3 will be better for you. Please don't do any heavy work. If you want to reduce the budget, think a little more about the GPU. Currently, the price of computer parts has increased a lot. Among them, the price of GPU is much higher.
I have heard for a few days that Intel is providing good GPUs at low prices. A friend of mine bought your number of 3 options only GPU bought intel. He is having fun. You figure out the rest.

I would do something like this and pair it up with a 1440P monitor. Mind you that the RTX 4070 is due for release in a few weeks and seeing how a 750W psu should suffice for that card it will bring down the price of this build by about $100 USD.

This card is due for release April 13th and it should be $100 less than the 4070 Ti. A 750w psu should suffice for this card.

Of the systems you mention, System 2 is the best option. The CPU is faster and uses significantly less power than the 10900k in System 1. The 3080 is not that much slower than the 3090 as long as the 10GB VRAM is sufficient for your needs. System 1 will require maintenance because it's a custom water cooling setup. You can forget System 3, it's hopelessly inadequate as a gaming machine.

You can however build a good machine for $2200 as @Why_Me suggests.
