Is ga-z270x-gaming-7 motherboard NVME 1.3? I know it has NVME, but I do not know which version for sure. I could not find it on the website, but I might have missed it.
It doesn't matter what type is has. It supports x4 PCIe NVME M.2 drives on both slots, so it will run any currently sold PCIe NVME M.2 drive on the market.
Is there a reason why you think this is an important factor?

I thought it would lead to compatibility issues. I guess I'm wrong.
Everything up to the 970 EVO should work fine with any M.2 2280 PCI x4 NVME slot.
The only difference is when a slot doesn't support a PCI M.2 drive, and only supports a SATA M.2 drive, or the other way around. Then it makes a difference. Your slots support both.
