So I intentionally got banned from a website but with private internet access it says I am ip blocked but when I changed my ip address via PIA and via my router I am still blocked. So does PIA work at all because I reconnected 4 different times and its still blocked. I am wanting to try norton VPN(wireless privacy) but wondering if thats any better or if they track your logs at all even though they say they don't.

Solution
Just mentioning a VPN that I use, it's called NordVPN, pretty good 😛

Also, try clearing the cookies off your computer, and connect to other servers on the VPN, since some IP's might be banned too
Private Internet Access is also still a good VPN and is known to work
Re-reading your post, was it that you were trying to test the vpn? Again, if you got banned through carelessness, I doubt toms would help, but if it was something like that, maybe.

Have you tried accessing this site from an incognito browser? It could be that it's loading cookies and determining the ban that way. Obviously as well you're using different credentials for the login?

PIA is endorsed by Linus, so I doubt it's something w/ the vpn failing in its intended function.

I've been using PIA for a while now and one thing I noticed is when you connect to specific regions you can often get the same IP address. If that IP is on the same banned list, which is bit of a weird coincidence but possible I suppose, then it's going to be no different than if your existing banned IP.

I agree with ChaoticWolf. Try clearing your cookies and other data using something like CC Cleaner. I also use NordVPN and the benefit of it you can select any server you want, because as it was mentioned, maybe one particular servers IP is banned, but there are others to choose from :)

Hi,

just started following the thread. To me it seems like this is the case of IP Leakage. There are times where your VPN shows that it is connected. But it is actually not. You are doing all your activities on your local IP.

dsilverburgh brought a very valid point which I forgot to mention too: always check ipleak.net or some other similar service to check whether your IP is leaking. Whenever I select a different server from NordVPN I always check if my IP is leaking before doing any browsing online. :)
